Scalable Geo-Data Fusion for Business Insight Conrad Albrecht, Research Staff Member at the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center
Abstract
Today, digital geo-spatial information is vastly available from a plurality of
different sources. The European and American space agencies publish remote sensing
products such as multi-spectral imagery and radar measurements from satellites;
governments make accessible survey data, e.g., on census, land use, and soil properties;
climate and weather models generate (global) forecasts; internet of things devices
and social media stream and contain geo-tagged information, etc.
Conrad Albrecht is a research staff member in the group "Data Intensive Physcial
Analytics" at the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center, USA. As a physicist he received a
PhD from Heidelberg University, Germany, in 2014. His work combined
theoretical analytics and distributed computing for cold quantum gases. As visiting
scientist he contributed to the compute infrastructure monitoring system of the ALICE
experiment at CERN, Switzerland.
