About Me

I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Colorado , my MSc. from the Universidad de la Republica Oriental del Uruguay , and my BS in Engineering and Information Systems from the Universidad ORT Uruguay .

I have over twenty years of experience in the IT industry and Academia. I served as Sr. Database Administrator at the Uruguayan Tax Administration Agency - DGI and worked for several years as Project Manager for mobile technology and point-of-sale systems. These positions provided me with extensive expertise in database systems. I have worked with varied DBMSs like IBM Informix, IBM DB2, and Oracle DB.

I am a former associate professor for the database chair at Universidad ORT Uruguay , where I lectured in database theory and application courses for more than ten years.

Currently, I am an Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado Denver. My teaching and research interests include data management, artificial intelligence, privacy-aware machine learning, and cybersecurity.
